Welcome to the Weddington Chase Wild Dolphins Families! 

It’s time to get ready for another awesome summer swim season! We are excited to welcome back returning Wild Dolphins as well as welcome new swimmers to our team. We’ve got lots of fun and excitement planned - this season we are looking forward to a Relay Carnival for our division and a special technique workshop along with meets and fun - and the 2026 season should be a memorable one!

The Wild Dolphin swim team was established over 20 years ago. Our team is a source of pride for the neighborhood and home meets are social events for the neighborhood. The goal of our summer swim program is to build relationships, build community and build physical fitness while gaining exposure to competitive swimming. While we do make technique a priority in practice, the season is extremely short. For in-depth instruction and technique we suggest year round programs. Our coaches offer private lessons as well.

Membership on the team is open to residents of Weddington Chase between the ages of 5-18. There are no tryouts, but all kids should be familiar with water safety skills and be able to swim across the pool independently with their face in the water using appropriate arm motions for each stroke, depending on age. Younger swimmers swim one length of the pool and learn various strokes as they get older. Older swimmers swim two lengths of the pool and should be familiar with all four strokes as well as dives and underwater turns.

We’ve got some great fun planned for this season! Practices will begin on Monday, May 11 afterschool and will take place daily. Once school gets out practices will shift to the morning time frame through the end of our season. Meets will take place on Monday and Thursday evenings this season as in prior seasons.
